Meet the Team: Nicolas Müller

Nicolas Müller joined UBIQ Aerospace in January. He’s doing his PhD on propeller icing at NTNU and applying his research on developing the ice protection system D•ICE.

What did you do before joining UBIQ Aerospace?

– I studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart and worked part-time for Porsche, developing new methods to stimulate the aerodynamic properties of the cars. I also took a year off studies to join a racing team. With the Greenteam Uni Stuttgart we developed a small electric car that we used to race in the Formula Student series. The top speed of the car was limited to 120 km/h, but it accelerated from 0 to 100 in 2,1 seconds.

What motivates you?

– Developing new things and new methods. I want to push the limits of what is possible.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

– I’d like to be able to fly. But I would rather have wings and fly like a bird than do it Superman style.

Thank you Nico! Last question: can you recommend a movie?

– I’ll recommend my favourite movie: Interstellar.
