UBIQ Aerospace specializes in advanced electro-thermal Ice Protection Solutions (IPS) tailored to meet the unique needs of various UAV types. Our cutting-edge, electrically heated wing system ensures safe and reliable UAV operations, even in severe icing conditions.
Impact of wing icing
When flying through clouds in freezing temperatures, wings and empennage are vulnerable to ice formation. Ice buildup distorts the aerodynamic profile, reduces lift, increases drag, and the risk of stall. It reduces overall aircraft stability and maneuverability and poses a significant limit to UAV performance and operational capabilities.

UBIQ's Wing Ice Protection Solution
UBIQ’s D•ICE IPS is engineered to provide robust protection against wing icing. By autonomously regulating the needed heating of the wing surface to fit the icing conditions, our solution maximizes safety and performance in adverse weather while minimizing power consumption.
D•ICE primarily operates in de-icing mode, meaning the wing remains unheated most of the time. This allows a thin, non-critical layer of ice to form before the system activates the heating to remove it. By operating in de-icing mode, the system significantly reduces the energy required compared to continuously heating the wing.
